SELF DEVELOPMENT GROUPS

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together

What are Self Development Groups

These are group sessions run by a psychologist and sometimes co facilitated by one of our awesome psychiatrists. This is when a group of people with similar needs or focuses work together in a shared space with a therapist to achieve goals in self development.

Groups are amazingly enriching as there is the benefit of dynamic contribution from group members. There is also an experiential learning element as the each person participated in an unfolding process. Groups are also highly cost effective! We charge groups at the medical aid rate of R300 per 2 hour session (whereas this would be between R2000 and R6000 for a one on one 2 hour session)

Our Groups and How to Join

We offer groups for adolescents and adults

Adults

For adults we offer community talk evenings, workshops, retreats and groups

Talk Evenings are open to the public and anyone can join. These are held monthly on a Wednesday evening from 6:00pm for 6:30pm until 8:30pm. Each talk is dedicated to a specific topic and is presented by one or two of our team members. Booking is essential and the cost is R100 per person. Delicious snacks are always served!

Workshops are one day events aimed at upskilling participants with tools for self development and growth. These are charged upfront and depending on the number of hours of the workshop. Retreats are workshops that happen over 2 or 3 days.

Groups are one to two hours and meet weekly, bi weekly or monthly. These are open to anyone who would like to join and are separated by general focus of the group. The groups are open groups, which means that new members are able to join at anytime, and there is no commitment to having to attend weekly.A group discussion is then facilitated by the therapist in which people can ask questions, share experiences, and give inputs and opinions. These are rich and meaningful group interactions. These are charged at medical aid rates and can be claimed back from the medical aid by the practice on your behalf.
