Group Programmes

We offer workshops and programmes for children, adolescents, couples and teachers. The children, adolescent and couples programmes run for 6 weeks, while the Teaching with Empathy workshop is run as a 1-day or 2-day experiential workshop. We also run adult therapy groups both talk and EAP. Read below for more information.

What do these programmes involve?

EAP is a form of psychotherapy conducted by a trained psychologist who is assisted by an equine behaviour. Each programme follows a 6 week approach and the group is a closed group – meaning no new members enter the group during this 6 week course. Each group is comprised of 3 – 5 couples, and each week, the group is given a semi-structured task to complete with the horses, and each week focuses and builds on a different skill area. No prior knowledge of horses or experience with horses is required.

Why take the group approach?

The group approach gives each participant a unique opportunity to try out their new found skills in a safe, non-threatening context, in the here and now. The group is a powerful learning context in which members encourage, support, and learn from each other.
